The Regent
SThe cosmic prince and one of the strongest characters in STS2. Stars persist between turns with no cap, enabling massive scaling. Sovereign Blade gains permanent damage through Forging. Hardest character to pilot but has the highest ceiling in the game.
Build Archetypes
Forge Build
BBuild around Sovereign Blade — a Token card (cost 2, Retain) that gains permanent damage every time it is Forged. Seeking Edge enables Forging while also generating Stars. The Blade becomes increasingly powerful through each Forge event, creating a scaling damage source that compounds over the entire run. WARNING: A10 players with extensive experience describe Forge Regent as 'unplayable at A10' — the Blade's permanent scaling cannot keep pace with A10 enemy HP and damage output. Viable at lower Ascension levels but strongly consider incorporating Reflect + Particle Wall at high Ascension.
Stars Build
SAccumulate Stars — Regent's secondary resource that persists between turns with no cap — and spend them on high-power Star spenders. Glow is the backbone common that fuels the engine every turn. With Divine Destiny relic, you begin each combat with 6 free Stars, making the early game dramatically more forgiving.
Stars+Forge Hybrid
AA fallback archetype that combines Stars accumulation with Sovereign Blade Forging when the run does not offer a clean path to either pure archetype. Glow fuels both engines simultaneously, and Seeking Edge is the linchpin connecting both systems. Lower ceiling than either pure archetype but more adaptable to poor card offers. This is more 'take what the run gives you' than a deliberately drafted archetype — most successful Regent runs that start hybrid eventually commit to one lane by Act 3.
